Hi there, I’m Aaron and this is cycle-search.com. If you’re wondering what this site is all about then keep reading.
Cycle Search – The Search Engine
Basically it’s a custom version of Google specifically built to hunt down info from cycling sites, it’s still in the very early stages (July 08) but as it ages it’ll just pick up what I’d hope to be the most relevant results for cyclists, why not try it out? Type Bell into Google and then try it here, last time I looked on Google it was a car insurance company at the top of the results, here at cycle-search.com it’s Bell crash helmets.
Cycle Search – News and Articles
Bombarding you with 101 new stories about the latest tour stage isn’t what you’ll find here, if you do want that there’s some great sites out there you can go to, here it’s a little different. Think ‘Top Gear’ for cyclists, shiny new kit, (hopefully) interesting articles and funny videos all served up with a sense of humour. There will be the occasional news stories but they’ll be nice short snippets of the interesting stuff.

Cycle Search – Who’s to Blame?
That’ll be me, I’m Aaron and one of my main passions in life is cycling. I’ve built this site with the intention of filling it with loads of useful cycling info, the sort of stuff I’d put in my own cycling magazine if I ever had the cash to run one. I don’t want to compete with the big news sites as most of these are doing a bang up job already and it’d be a really tall order to do a better job anyway. The main aim is to entertain and inform.

If you’re wondering about the photo (1994 ‘ish at Brands Hatch) I’m the strange looking one in the middle (yellow, green and red top). I’ve been riding bikes for as long as I can remember starting out on a Raleigh Chopper as a scruffy 10 year old, aimlessly riding around with my mates looking like the kids out of the Goonies. Later on around 1987 I started cycling ‘properly’ with the local CTC group, I’ve had my fair share of long hot days in the saddle, scary crashes and freezing cold soakings while out training in the middle of winter, and like most cyclists I’m probably going to have my bike taken off me when I’m too old and cranky to ride rather than give up on the sport, and if it wasn’t for my dad giving my little brother £5 for food every Sunday as he disappeared off with the local touring club (decent bit of cash for a 16 year old back in 1987) I’d probably never have discovered this great sport. So to everyone reading I really hope you enjoy your visit and don’t forget to add cycle-search.com to your favourites.
